Jenny Johannesson

Landing page/about section for jennyjohannesson.com
Jenny Johannesson is a digital designer based out of San Fransisco. Her site is very pretty, but I'm not sure I agree with some of the organization choices. The transitions from section to section are really nice, and load times don't even exist because it all pretty much exists on the same page. I feel like it might be a little animation heavy, though. As you move from section to section, each movement seems to trigger an animation of some kind, which gets old after a few minutes. All in all, though, it is an incredibly well made site with a lot of polish to it. I would definitely recommend visiting it and checking it out for yourself.

Wokine

Landing page for wokine.com
Wokine is a design agency based out of  France. Their specialty is startup companies and helping them get on their feet with solid branding. Their website is a little clunky in places, but it looks amazing. The load times can be a bit much, but refreshing fixes that issue. I'm not sure if the fault lies with their site or with Parkland's network. The site navigation is very nice on the eyes and transitional animations are really smooth, carrying you from one section to another. The bog down only happens when you are switching pages. It's very well made, and I would still suggest visiting it and seeing it for yourself.

Jonson Banks

Landing page/portfolio project page for johnsonbanks.co.uk
Johnson Banks is a UK based design agency, specializing in branding. Their website is actually a lot of fun to explore. The layout really leans hard into using the grid layout to it's full potential. It's simple, clean, and very eye-catching. Looking through their portfolio items, I actually realize that I've used a lot of their work in the past for inspiration, which makes me want to explore them a lot more.

Nicolas Tarier

Landing page/portfolio projects page on nicolastarier.com
Nicolas Tarier is a web art director based in France.  Of the websites I have seen so far, his seems the most simple and attainable by someone like me who has very little experience in web design. It's very clean and transitions well between sections. There is virtually no load time because the site uses animations to bring in new parts of the site, instead of loading a different page. Everything happens on the same page, which makes it feel even cleaner.

Steven Mengin

Landing page
Steven Mengin is a digital designer based out of Toronto. His site is beautiful to look at, and really simple to navigate through. The main landing page has a very simple, relaxing animation in the background. The only real downside is that the navigation away from the landing page is a bit hard to see on the side.

About page
Portfolio projects page
The portfolio projects page is really well designed. You scroll from one project to the next, and then you click through each each project right there. No navigation away from the main portfolio page, which is a really neat idea, and I might want to use that when I build my own website in the future.

Inside a project

Aaron Porter

Landing page for aaronporter.co
This portfolio website belongs to Aaron Porter, a designer, filmmaker, and creative based out of Grand Rapids, MI. His site is a really interesting mixture of footage and photography, with a very clean, easy to use interface.

About page
The portfolio projects page is very well designed, and is organized in a very intuitive way. Each individual project page is also very well organized and each project is documented thoroughly, allowing you to follow his creative process from concept to completion.

Portfolio projects page
There are so many elements in this website that can't be captured in screenshots, so I would definitely suggest going there yourself and checking it out.

Cedrick Lachot

Landing page for cedricklachot.com
This website belongs to Cedrick Lachot, a French interactive and motion designer. I will simply start out by saying that I don't think I've ever had a more pleasant experience with a website interface than I had on his website.

Project page
The project pages are absolutely gorgeous and a pleasure to explore. The only interface is scrolling up and down, which brings in way more movement in the page than you would expect. I would highly suggest visiting this website and enjoying yourself.

David Hellmann

Landing page
David Hellmann is a Digital Art Director, Designer, and Developer based in Linz, Austria. His website is absolutely gorgeous, and it's actually fun to move around in. Simple animations as you move from section to section, and even as you scroll through different sections streamline the experience and make you forget that the web page has load time.
One of the selections on his portfolio page
Each portfolio piece is set up in a vertical fashion, and, in fact, the whole website seems to be set up more for mobile than for desktop viewing. Each scroll comes with a little bit of a snap to center on the next element down the line, which, again, aids the mobile visitors more than the desktop.
Actual project page. I apologize for zooming out so much. There is a lot of vertical to his website. You should visit it.
Overall, even on a desktop, this website still an amazing example of web design. I would highly suggest giving it a visit and just looking around for a bit. Maybe even try it on different platforms.

Kevin Rhodes

Initial landing page for iamkevinrhodes.com
This is the personal portfolio website for Kevin Rhodes, a designer, web developer, and photographer based out of San Diego, CA. The website is made using Bootstrap 3 and WordPress, and is beautifully done. Everything flows very smoothly, which really speaks to his web development skills.
Portfolio project selection page
As with most Bootstrap websites, everything is essentially on the same page, which cuts down on loading times and streamlines transitions between sections.
